MY DOG by Kathy Folkerts

What We Do
Winter Light

My dog smells awful funny when he gets wet;
My dog eats food off the floor;
My dog poops in my yard and pees in my flowers,
But my dog still loves me better than you!

My dog plays with stuff I wouldn't touch to save my life;
Only the brave would try to smell his breath;
My dog licks himself in unmentionable places,
But my dog still loves me better than you!

Now, he may track in mud, but he never walks on me,
And his tail is cuter than yours will ever be!

My dog barks at the popsicle man and his ding-a-ling bell;
Some men make me feel like barking too - its true!
My dog gives me wet kisses with too much tongue,
But my dog still loves me better than you!

Now I don't have to wonder if he will be true,
And sometimes he might whine, but not as much as you!

My dog doesn't get angry when I go shopping;
My dog doesn't reject me when I get PMS;
My dog doesn't make any money and I pay all his vet bills,
But my dog still loves me better than you!

My dog; my dog (barking, howling), my dog.

My dog doesn't reject me when I get PMS;
